Pre-Planning ‘Drop-in’ Event – 9th February 2016
In response to the growing demand in the immediate area for more primary school places and Ashmole Academy’s desire to extend its educational excellence. We aim to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children will benefit from a well-balanced curriculum that develops the enquiring minds and talents of all pupils. The school will provide innovative and creative approaches to primary education, especially taking advantage of the links with Ashmole Academy. There will be a special emphasis on the teaching of English and Mathematics, but also Science, learning a language, Music and P.E. We have received more than 170 applications for the 60 places that we are able to offer for our first intake.
The proposal is for a temporary building to accommodate the first two years’ intake of up to 120 pupils until a permanent school is established. The permanent school will be the subject of a separate planning application and consultation process. A project team has been appointed by the Education Funding Agency, the government agency responsible for the procurement and building of the primary school.
We are holding an informal pre-planning drop-in event in order to share the plans for the temporary accommodation to enable you to have a chance to review and ask questions. The plans will be on display in the Refectory at Ashmole Academy between 4.30pm and 7.00pm on Tuesday 9th February 2016.
Members of the project team including Ashmole Academy, the EFA, design consultants, transport consultants and planning consultants will be present. Please do come along with your comments and questions.
